Becky – Growing up in the beautiful Gatineau Hills, Becky’s introduction to the connection between spirit and nature came early. After living on the beautiful island of Maui for several years, she is happy to be “home” teaching at La Grange. Becky is a Yoga Alliance certified Hatha Kripalu teacher and has taught the Sunday class at La Grange since 2006. She continues her yogic and meditation journey with a daily practice, as well through studies with esteemed teachers worldwide: Yogi Vishvketu and Chétana Panwar (Rishikesh, India), Susan Piver (Boston), Cat Kabira (Bali), Basia Going (Ottawa), Nancy Gilgoff (Maui, Hawaii) and of course, each and every one of her students. Becky’s intention is to learn, travel, love, play, teach, laugh, guide, share and practice yoga and meditation within the community of Wakefield and La Pêche, in English and en français…while continuing to follow the rhythm of Mother Nature…and planning for her next surf trip back to the ocean!
Christine – Christine believes in yoga as a tool for life on and off the mat. She hopes her classes celebrate the YOKE of the body, mind and breath and allow the student to create a moment in time that is all theirs. Christine is also a Postnatal and Labour Doula, Visual Artist and mother of three.
Peggy – Peggy has been practicing yoga for the last 30 years but it wasn’t until after retiring in 2011 from a career as a flute teacher and freelancer that she took her Hatha yoga teacher training at Rama Lotus, studying under Jamine Ackert and Kat Mills. She has been a Zen practitioner for the last 15 years practicing as a formal student at the White Wind Zen Community and now with the Sanbo Kyodan. She teaches both meditation and yoga in the prison through the group “Freeing the Human Spirit” (www.freeingspirit.com). She has also taught at the Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health.
