La Grange is conveniently located only 20 minutes from downtown Ottawa, and is a great weekend getaway from Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City or the Northern US. The Ottawa International Airport is easily accessible from most major cities.

From Montreal

  • Follow Highway 40 north (about 65km)
  • Go west on Highway 417 (about 120 km)
  • When you reach Ottawa, get off at the Nicholas St exit, but stay in the far right lane to follow Mann Ave
  • Continue straight to take King Edward (don't turn right on Mann)
  • King Edward will take you through Ottawa; stay in the centre or left lane, following signs for Hull or Hwy 5
  • You will cross a bridge into Quebec; follow the signs for Hwy 5 /Maniwaki (centre or left lane)
  • Continue on Hwy 5 UNTIL IT ENDS, about 10-15 minutes
  • Turn left at the stoplight, on to Hwy 105
  • Continue on Hwy 105 for 5 km
  • Look for a sign on your right that says "Jean Burger”. La Grange is on the NEXT STREET ON THE RIGHT - Rockhurst Road. Our street is small and easy to miss!
  • If you come to a road called “Valley Drive” with a Wakefield turn-off sign on your right hand side, you have missed it!
  • La Grange is located at 37 Rockhurst Road on the left side, a few houses in.

    From the Ottawa airport (Macdonald Cartier)
  • Take the Airport Parkway north, which becomes Bronson Avenue
  • Turn right on Chamberlain just before you pass under Highway 417 - just past the Mcdonald's restaurant
  • Chamberlain will take you east, parallel to Highway 417
  • After you cross Bank Street, stay in the left lane and take the ramp on to Highway 417
  • Get off at the next exit - Nicholas St/Lees Ave
  • Follow directions below to get from Lees Ave to La Grange

    From Toronto

  • Take Highway 401 east past Kingston and Brockville (about 340 km)
  • Follow Highway 416 north (exit 721A) toward Ottawa (about 75 km)
  • Go east on Highway 417 (towards Ottawa) and get off at the Nicholas St/Lees Ave exit
  • Follow directions below to get from Lees Ave to La Grange

From the Nicholas St / Lees Ave exit (going east on Hwy 417)

  • Stay right to follow Lees Ave
  • Turn left at the stop sign
  • Continue left, crossing back over the highway
  • Follow the signs for King Edward, and then take a slight right on King Edward
  • King Edward will take you through Ottawa; stay in the centre or left lane, following signs for Hull or Hwy 5
  • You will cross a bridge into Quebec; follow the signs for Hwy 5 /Maniwaki (centre or left lane)
  • Continue on Hwy 5 UNTIL IT ENDS, about 10-15 minutes

Steam Train from Hull
The Hull-Chelsea-Wakefield Steam Train takes you from the city of Hull to the village of Wakefield travelling one of eastern Canada's most scenic railways. For more information, click here.

Bus service to Wakefield
Take the Maniwaki bus from the Voyageur bus terminal located on Catherine Street just west of Bank Street in Ottawa. For information phone 613-238-5900. If you are arriving by bus, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to pick you up and bring you to La Grange.

Bicycle
During the summer months many people cycle from Ottawa to Wakefield, either through the Gatineau Park or along Highway 105 (beginning at St. Joseph Boulevard in Hull) and then down River Road.
