Wakefield Nestled in a postcard-perfect setting along the Gatineau River, the bilingual village of Wakefield possesses a mellow and friendly atmosphere created by its residents and nurtured by its surroundings. Despite its small stature, Wakefield offers the visitor everything he or she needs, so there is no need to drive elsewhere for necessities or entertainment. Ottawa is well-known for its amazing outdoor activities, including cycling, roller-blading and walking trails. In winter, the Rideau Canal becomes the world’s longest skating rink where you can join hundreds who use the Canal for pleasure or even as their daily route to work!
